Fukuda Motors, the most comprehensive and largest commercial vehicle company in China, held a ceremony to launch a technical innovation in the Shandong plant in Zhucheng on the 23rd. After the technological transformation, the production capacity of Foton Motor's Shandong plant will be increased from the current 200,000 to 300,000 per year. The Shandong plant will become the world's largest and most advanced light truck production base. The production line of the new base can be fully integrated with the world-renowned truck company production lines. Accomplished, Ao Ling will also reach the international advanced technology level.
Foton Motors is a key player in the Chinese automotive industry. Its annual sales of commercial vehicles exceed 500,000 vehicles. It is the largest domestic commercial vehicle sales company and the first brand of commercial vehicles in China. At present, there are more than 400 supporting enterprises in the province, supporting more than 70% of the total, and achieving an annual distribution volume of nearly 40 billion yuan. In January-April this year, the Shandong plant sold more than 140,000 cars and achieved sales revenue of 12 billion yuan. Each of the indicators hit a record high. In the "Shandong Provincial Automobile Industry Adjustment and Revitalization Plan" formulated by the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Foton Motor Shandong Plant is listed as a provincial key enterprise for support.
Foton Auto Aoling Factory is one of the most important production bases of Foton Motor. Futian Automobile Chief Designer Yu Xuebin introduced that after the completion of the technical transformation of the 300,000 production lines of Foton Aoling, it will integrate all the classic technologies of Japan and Europe and have the ability to manufacture high-tech all-electric environmental protection light trucks, becoming the world’s first-class light trucks. Equipped with a production line, Ao Ling’s technological level has reached a manufacturing level that partially exceeds that of European light trucks.
At present, Foton auto products have been exported to 48 countries and regions in the world. In 2008, the export volume reached more than 30,000 vehicles. It has been the largest exporter of commercial vehicles for four consecutive years. While exporting products, Foton Motor also established overseas CKD factories in Pakistan, Ukraine, Vietnam, etc. In 2010, it will export to developed countries such as Japan, South Korea and Europe.
The total investment in technical upgrading of the Shandong plant area will reach 2 billion yuan, and it is expected to be completed in 2010. The annual sales revenue of the Shandong plant area will be raised from more than 10 billion yuan to 30 billion yuan.
