And the linear constant current scheme has very few customer complaints, which reduces the cost of after-sales service. In addition, the intelligent lighting control realized by the linear constant current driving IC is simpler than that of the switching power supply. However, the smart lighting market will take two years or even three years to heat up, because smart lighting needs to be combined with smart homes and smart cities to be truly popular. It is understood that linear IC has been launched in the past few years, but the market has been tepid, Zhao Chunbo believes that it is affected by factors such as concept, application environment, market and price. First, users who have used switching power supplies are reluctant to linear ICs. It takes a certain amount of time to change this concept. Second, current linear ICs are not suitable for some markets with narrow input voltage ranges. The current technology can actually achieve a wide voltage range, but at the same time other performance will be worse, such as: PF value is low. But I believe this is just a transitional product in the process of progress, and this technology will be broken in the future. Third, in some applications, an external power supply is required. It is virtually impossible to achieve a 100% complete replacement of the switching power supply by the linear constant current scheme. The unwillingness of the packaging manufacturers also makes the development of linear constant current schemes slow, because for them, packaging high-voltage lamp beads will reduce the amount of lamp beads, and the overall profit is lower than ordinary lamp beads. However, recently, large enterprises have successively launched high-power high-voltage lamp beads, which has brought about the effect of the big factory, and the output has increased, gradually reducing the cost of the lamp. Price is always the final guide. Zhao Chunbo said. At present, the market share of linear IC is around 15%. Although the proportion is not much, the upward trend is obvious. Especially under the guiding role of large companies, many companies have already tried to use linear constant current schemes to develop according to this trend.
